Welcome to Lamp & Vine (“App,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Lamp & Vine mobile application, website, and related services. By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. Purpose of the App

Lamp & Vine is a Christian Bible-study companion designed to help users better understand Scripture through educational explanations, historical context, reflection questions, and Scripture-based prayers.

The App is intended to encourage personal Bible study and spiritual growth. It is not intended to replace:

Personal Bible reading
Prayer
Church participation
Pastoral guidance
Professional counseling or medical advice
2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old or have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the App.

By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. User Accounts

Some features require an account.

You agree to:

Provide accurate information
Keep your password secure
Notify us of unauthorized access to your account
Accept responsibility for activity occurring under your account

You may not:

Share your account with others
Impersonate another person
Use another user’s account without permission

4. Premium Subscriptions

Certain features require a paid subscription.

Premium subscriptions may include:

Unlimited AI-assisted Bible explanations
Unlimited Scripture questions
Unlimited journal entries
Reading plans
Saved studies
Future premium features

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period.

You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.

All subscription billing and cancellations are handled according to the policies of the Apple App Store or Google Play.

5. Refunds

All purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are subject to the refund policies of the applicable app store.

Lamp & Vine does not directly process or issue refunds for purchases made through these platforms.

6. Free Features

The App may offer free access to selected features.

We reserve the right to modify free features, usage limits, or subscription offerings at any time.

7. Artificial Intelligence

Lamp & Vine uses artificial intelligence to generate content such as:

Scripture explanations
Reflection questions
Practical applications
Scripture-based prayers
Educational responses

Although we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors, omissions, or incomplete information.

Users should:

Compare explanations with Scripture
Read Bible passages in context
Seek guidance from trusted pastors or Bible teachers when appropriate

The App does not claim to provide divine revelation, prophetic messages, or infallible interpretations of Scripture.

AI-generated content should never be interpreted as a direct message from God.

8. User Content

You retain all ownership rights to the content you create within the App, including:

Prayer-journal entries
Reflection notes
Saved studies

By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store, process, synchronize, and display your content solely as necessary to provide and operate the App’s services.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App
Reverse engineer, copy, or improperly modify the software
Use automated tools to abuse or overload the service
Upload or transmit malicious code
Violate applicable laws or regulations
Interfere with the operation or security of the App
Use the App for fraudulent or unlawful purposes

10. Intellectual Property

The Lamp & Vine name, logo, software, design, graphics, and original content are owned by Lamp & Vine or licensed for our use.

Bible translations remain the property of their respective publishers and are used under applicable licenses or permissions.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to you.

11. Copyright Infringement

If you believe that any content available through the App infringes your copyright or other intellectual-property rights, please contact us at support@lamp-vine.com and provide sufficient information for us to investigate your claim.

12. Third-Party Services

The App may use third-party services, including:

Artificial-intelligence service providers
Firebase
Apple App Store
Google Play
Subscription-management providers
Cloud-hosting providers
Bible-content providers

These services operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for the operation, availability, security, or practices of third-party services beyond our reasonable control.

13. Availability

We strive to keep the App available and functioning properly. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free service.

We may:

Update features
Modify functionality
Perform maintenance
Temporarily suspend services
Discontinue portions of the App

We may take these actions with or without prior notice when reasonably necessary.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all express or implied warranties, including warranties of:

Merchantability
Fitness for a particular purpose
Accuracy
Availability
Non-infringement

We do not guarantee that AI-generated content will always be accurate, complete, current, or error-free.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lamp & Vine and its owners, employees, affiliates, contractors, and service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the App.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App or its subscriptions during the 12 months preceding the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

16. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delays, interruptions, or failures in performance resulting from events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, internet or utility outages, acts of government, labor disputes, cyberattacks, or failures of third-party service providers.

17. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:

Violate these Terms
Abuse or misuse the App
Engage in fraudulent or unlawful activity
Threaten the operation or security of the service

You may stop using the App and request deletion of your account at any time.

Termination does not automatically cancel an active subscription. Subscriptions must be canceled through the Apple App Store or Google Play account through which they were purchased.

18. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect personal information.

By using the App, you acknowledge that you have reviewed our Privacy Policy.

19. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Mississippi, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If significant changes are made, we will update the Effective Date and, when appropriate, notify users through the App, website, or another reasonable method.

Your continued use of the App after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those revised Terms.

Users are encouraged to:
